Getting a (noisy, smelly) tuktuk yesterday, I wondered about Koh Phayam's transport future. Tuk Tuks didn't even exist on the island in 2018, the last time I was here. There were only motorcycle taxis then. Most roads are barely wide enough for the tuk tuks and some definitely only for motorcycles even now.

I think Gogoro would be perfect here - you have a pretty self contained system, loads of opportunities for more solar and the most sun when there is the most demand during the Nov-May tourist season.

I wonder what the barriers to getting something set up are? Many of the rental motorbikes are so old and clapped-out. It would be so much quieter and greener, and the distances to travel are so short, easy to return to a single base in the port for battery swaps if needed, or plug in during the day to recharge...
