I opened up one of those outlet bricks that splits your outlet into six plus two USB ports bc the USB part stopped working

i got it open which was a MASSIVE pain in the ass bc they used a LOT of glue so I'm already "whelp this is done but I still want to see what's wrong" and i see a couple of parts that don't look quite right but idk maybe?

so i rig up power and trace voltages through the USB converter board and get to a little DC rectifier chip and test it and get 9 volts out so i'm like ??? and "well maybe they're doing it in stages for some reason" but i check my meter to make sure it's not sekrit AC and try again and that's when it goes POW

guess i found it

now it's a single-stage converter to 0 volts

in the bin xD

Electrical advice needed! I ordered a thermal actuator for a radiator and received one that's marked as 24V AC/DC.

Before I send it back does anyone know if this means that it literally takes 24V AC and DC? Or is it implying that it takes 24V DC and also works on a normal European AC circuit?

Whoever did the layout of the cabin fuse boards in the Mk1 Peugeot 2008 deserves to have a 12V car battery attached to their danglies.

WHY is one of them buried behind the gloves box with four wiring looms across the front of it?
WHY is the other one behind the fascia under the steering wheel but facing sideways towards the steering column?

It's taken me an hour and half to attach a fuse tap for a dash cam. Camera and wiring kit are still on my desk (minus the fuse tap). Gah!

We built up the new house around KNX – to operate and automate switches, lights, covers, heating, etc.… Pretty un-KNX-y, I’m using Home Assistant (@homeassistant) to summarize and visualize the KNX entities; bringing in more functionality and devices over time. This afternoon, I refactored the definitions into separate files. I’m already at 433 lines and it got just too messy.
