Electric vehicle charging is a mess.

Every number I see is somewhere between 20-25% failure, and that seems right from my personal experience. The real problem is that I just don’t trust ANY of them to be working and simply feel lucky when they do, and even if they are working they are often in use or blocked by a gas powered car. This is creating a huge trust problem and will absolutely stymie efforts to get folks to switch from gas to electric.

While I’m talking #ev here’s a photo of my #Chevy Bolt. I’ve had it for a year now and I really can’t stop singing it’s praises. It’s a blast to drive without being dangerously fast, it’s ridiculously roomy for both front and rear passengers, and it has a great user interface (and Apple CarPlay). I’ve owned a lot of cars in my life, from a Porsche 911 to a Tesla Model X, but I’ve never loved a car more than this one. #electricvehilces

Chevy is talking about bringing a small truck like their South American Montana model to market as an #ev and I think it’s brilliant. My dad was a lifelong trim carpenter and always preferred the kind of small pickup that no one sells anymore. Trucks have become absurdly large and most don’t even fit in a typical garage now. Add the kinds of outlets you see on the F150 Lightning and you have a real winner. #electricvehilces

Our second hand 2016 Ford CMAX Energi #phev has given us an impressive 268.9 miles per gallon since we got it in late October. Driven every day and we've not had to put any petrol in it. It runs on sunshine, charging from our solar panels!
