Today I wanted to show how I used #electroetching on the #brass parts of my #armor.
First I drew the design in a vector editor, then sent it to my vinyl cutter. I stuck the adhesive vinyl to my brass, so only the parts I wanted etched were exposed.
I hooked that up to the positive terminal of a 12V battery, while a sacrificial piece of steel was hooked to the negative, and it was all submerged in a salt bath for 2 hrs.
After peeling off the vinyl, I cleaned the brass with steel wool.
