Thinking my preferences lean toward some #elektron gear, specifically starting with the Model:Cycles and Model:Samples, and a drum machine, and bass synth, likely #behringer. This is a #nodaw night. I have a #digitone, and I don’t really know how to use it. Obviously reading the manual would be a good start, but does anyone have suggestions for resources on how to get up and running quickly? Written word is preferred but videos are ok too. I am familiar with the basics of the #Elektron workflow (I have an A4) but I know nothing about the digitone specifically.

Hi! I’m a hobbyist music maker.

I started making music on Android in Caustic. Then switched to iOS and embraced whatever it had to offer (it’s a lot).

Last year I decided to finally sink some cash into hobby that I enjoy the most and purchased some of Elektron’s gear (no GAS yet), which reinforced my interest in the hobby even more!

Hm, looks like my SIDStation has a broken SID, operating voltage way too low but okay if I remove the chip (suggesting a faulty SID, I guess).

I'll try one of the modern replacements, but this is a bummer, especially since this particular unit has such cool history.

I guess trying to find an actual SID is more or less pointless by now.

Did a little live stream last night of this kinda hypnotic little max patch I’d stumbled into. There’s a couple of samples from the Octatrack, but mostly just using it as a MIDI sequencer. MIDI notes from that are sent into Max, which ignores most of the data and just uses them as triggers. Each trigger runs various pattern generators that spit out fresh MIDI to a digitone off screen.
