😢🏳️⚧️💜 Sad to hear #ElixirConf has chosen, again, to host the US conference in Flordia for 2024. #MyElixirStatus
✅ Today’s goals:
- Wake up a little early with lots to do today. (done)
- Pickup breakfast sandwich. (done)
- Watch #ElixirConf sessions while hacking.
- Hopefully, hear good news about an Android crash, else work with others to figure out the next steps.
- Start looking into Slack APIs.
- Start working on a decision document to capture my Svelte observations so far.
- Phillies at 4pm. Can we score some runs today?
🤷♂️ Who else is attending #ElixirConf this year?
I'll be online this year but hoping to round up some folks for some virtual coffee chats in between sessions. If you want to join me, let me know.
Happy to share that I’ll be speaking at ElixirConf US 2023 in my home city of Orlando September 6–8. There are a lot of great speakers coming: https://2023.elixirconf.com/presenters#speakers

We’re going to #ElixirConf in #Lisbon this April https://www.elixirconf.eu/talks/electricsql-local-first-sql-with-elixir/
My elixirconf talk was finally posted. My goal was to break down some of the “conventional wisdom” that many elixir devs seem to have internalized. It came out OK considering that it was my first talk in a while.
My #ElixirConf 2022 talk, Delightful Multiplayer Editing with Phoenix, is live!
This is about how we use Phoenix Channels (WebSockets) to enable real-time, collaborative mapmaking with Felt (and what we’ve learned along the way).
Oh dang, a big batch of new videos from #ElixirConf 2022 dropped yesterday!

👨💻 ElixirConf Recap
This past week I attended #ElixirConf in Colorado. It was my first time out at an in-person conference since COVID lockdowns. As much as I hated the travel, it was great to see everyone.
👨💻 My only significant #ElixirConf disappointment is that we didn’t last minute combine forces with the cosplayers at nearby expo. Missed opportunity for greatness.
👨💻 An #ElixirConf idea: add topic cards like “ecto” or “LiveView” to lunch tables encouraging people to sit and talk about that thing.
Watching #ElixirConf videos on the TV while programming works surprisingly well. Not like I can store any useful information in my memory from them, but somehow it helps me focus and hearing other people be excited about Elixir gives me motivation. #myelixirstatus
Had a great week at #ElixirConf. Tons of demos of LiveView maturity, got some hands on time with Nerves for embedded development and was blown away. Also tons of little tips and tricks to try out. All this and the lazy river. Thanks to everyone who helped make this a success.
