Steve Lacy - Evidence (with Don Cherry)
Apart from some weirdly obvious edits on a few tracks here (always heading into the final restatements), this is a great sounding recording of Lacy, Cherry and his accompanying musicians -- Billy Higgins and Carl Brown -- playing a bunch of Monk songs, plus two from Ellington.
Another great prssing from QRP, too. If only the Mitski album had been pressed this well...

Tootin' Through the Roof by Duke Ellington ans his orchestra
In 1939 Duke had two fantastic trumpet players, Cootie Williams and Rex Stewart. Cootie would leave the band shortly after this was recorded (he would rejoin in the early sixties)
Basically a concerto grosso for two trumpets, with a first solo on alto sax by the great Johnny Hodges. Notice the swell intro by Harry Carney on baritone sax.

ellington is my favorite composer bar none, but he isn't often considered a 'classical' composer, and i'll just say that if gershwin (whose songs i infinitely prefer to his long-form works) is classical, so is ellington - if having done a longform work is a criterion, 'black, brown and beige' checks the box (and listen to the 50s version with mahalia jackson).
