#Ello ist seit über eine Woche mit Fehler 500 down. Ist es Zeit, den Totenschein für die Plattform auszustellen?

Das leise Verschwinden von #Online #Communities und den eigenen Accounts dort kann man fatalistisch nehmen (tue ich auch, such is life) - und auch ein wenig traurig sein, dass dieser Teil des eigenen digitalen Lebens nun verloren ist.

Speaking of the the late #Ello , this little video on #ElementaryOS /#eOS reflects similar problems that that little Social Media service had, basically treating their Desktop OS Project as a Hipster Art Project instead of addressing the actual needs and wants of users. Their App Center isn’t making money either.

Was an Ello schade ist: Es ist eigentlich gar kein #SozialesNetzwerk, es findet keine Interaktion statt, es ist mehr so halt tot.

Aber sich Mühe zu geben, sich selbst irgendwie zu kuratieren, zu überlegen, was man warum zeigt, dafür ist der Gigant #Instagram auch kein nützlicher Outlet. Der #Likereflex dort zündet bei #Influencerinnen, die zu jedem x-beliebigen Hashtag nur Fotos von sich selber zeigen, nicht von der Sache oder dem Event.

„Ich selbst als der Mittelpunkt von allem“ ? Eine Art Narzissmus-Zeitgeist? Bin ich frei davon?

Die Likes geben ihnen Recht, sie sind unsere Währung, aber am Ende wie Bitcoin mit nur wenig echtem Gegenwert.
