Another #ADHD #Medication thing: #Vyvanse / #Elvanse definitely activates me /wakes me up in the morning, (mostly) regardless of the amount of sleep I had.
That means that I have to intentionally make sure I get enough sleep the night before!
This is a lot easier with meds than without because I can decide to sleep and follow through, but still it takes active consideration.
The unhealthy ADHD pattern of “staying awake until I collapse” does not work when taking meds.

#ADHD #Elvanse day 1 (30mg) Drank lots of water. Ate three meals. Felt my heart racing at times. A bit activated or restless in the afternoon, despite being physically tired and achy.

At night really struggled to sleep, even after a guided sleep meditation. Resorted to a sleeping tablet in the end, but woke up after only 6 hrs. Anxious about getting enough rest: my titration increases to 40mg next week and then 50mg, but 30mg already feels very high!

Concentration, focus and mood much improved. Felt an instant uplift and sense of capacity. Parenting was easier and I had more energy for play.

Headaches, achiness and some irritability probably due to not having my morning coffee (I thought it unwise to mix the two).

The sensation of calm, cheerful focus without getting flustered or overwhelmed by planning a task or being interrupted is novel and wonderful. Also I'm experiencing time differently, which is absolutely fascinating - more predictable and linear, less wibbly-wobbly, easier to keep track of.

#ADHD #Elvanse day 1: took the capsule at 7am. Burst of energy this morning, cheerfully cleaned the kitchen, feeling ready to go (packing for holiday tomorrow). Enjoying parenting. Calm and collected. Got desperately hungry by 9am, much more so than usual, so had a good appetite. Thirsty all morning.

1pm I'm unusually achy and cranky, bit of a headache. Feeling depleted - I think hungry? - but v low appetite. Definite sense of not being able to Do Another Thing until I've eaten/rested.

Wobei es sich sogar gut traf mit dem Status-Bericht, weil ich eh nachfragen wollte, ob ich mal testweise auf #Elvanse umsteigen könnte. Hatte das vor einigen Monaten mit einer geschenkten und auf vier Tage aufgeteilten 70 mg-Kapsel ausprobiert und fand es deutlich angenehmer als #Medikinet. Deckt sich auch mit Erfahrungen aus früherer Selbstmedikation; offenbar spricht mein Gehirn ausgesprochen gut auf Amphetamine an (vor allem das sonst echt miese Arbeitsgedächtnis). #ADHS

Question for anyone out there taking #ADHD meds. Specifically #Vyvanse / #Elvanse

Been taking it since April and haven't increased my dose at all. I’m not sure if I need to consider it. I know once the meds are therapeutic they're less noticeable but idk.

Biggest thing is it feels like all side effects, including dry mouth (which seemed most prominent) go away by the afternoon. I often get tired by 2pm, but rebound and feel a smaller return of focus until the evening. Is this normal?

Gestern beim Taekwondo-Turnier unserer Tochter. 8 Std in ner schlecht belüfteten Turnhalle voller lauter, sich viel bewegender und riechender Menschen.
Dank #Elvanse hab ichs besser geschafft als sonst. Am Anfang hat die Wirkung noch nicht eingesetzt und es war die Hölle in bunt!
Wahrscheinlich war der Unterschied nicht für andere erkennbar, die mich schon auf Turnieren erlebt haben, wenn sie's nicht wussten ( @SoSeltsam ?) aber für mich deutlich spürbar.
Doch zum Schuss wurds schwierig.

Fortbildung mit #Hildegard

Der Plateaueffekt von #Elvanse hält bei mir maximal 9-10 Stunden an.
Fortbildung ist im letzten Drittel, als ich merke, dass Hildgard langsam wach wird und die Aussicht von meinem Schreibtisch ist schon toll.
Schliesslich hat #Hildegard das Büro vor geraumer Zeit geplant.

Multitasking: Zuhören, Folien anschauen und "Oh, Sonnenuntergang und schau mal, die Wolken!"

Liebe #ADHS-Bubble. Ich mach nen neuen Versuch mit #Elvanse. Bleibe diesmal bei der ganz geringen Dosierung (15 mg). Ich hatte letztes Mal (bevor ich hochgesteigert habe) den Eindruck, ganz zart was zu spüren. Und heute hab ich z. B. etwas weniger Appetit (was gut ist!). Was merkt ihr, wenn ihr Elvanse nehmt? Interessieren tut mich alles, aber besonders auch die Wirkung bei denen, die wenig nehmen (bis 30 mg). Dann kann ich vielleicht besser in mich reinhorchen.

Today I'm topping up #Elvanse/#Vyvanse (18mg) with little Dex (IR) boosts. Anyone else had experience doing this?

Fun fact: der Doc meinte, #Elvanse wirkt sehr viel subtiler als Ritalin und macht seltener #rebound|s. Und wenn, dann sind sie sanfter als die von Ritalin.

Kann das jemand bestätigen? Ich habe das genaue Gegenteil gehabt.

Könnte aber auch damit zusammenhängen, dass ich sie nicht durchgängig genommen habe. Die ersten Tage waren die NW von Ritalin ja auch erstmal stärker.

Erfahrungen wären spannend!
