Karawane gegen Megaprojekte in Südmexiko und Aktionstag am 25.April

"In weniger als zwei Wochen beginnt die Karawane “el sur resiste” im Süden Mexikos. Diese wendet sich zum einen gegen das Megaprojekt “tren maya”, der große Teile des Urwaldes der Halbinsel Yucatan und des angrenzenden Chiapas “touristisch erschließen” soll und dabei schon jetzt gigantische Zerstörung durch große Schneisen anrichtet ganz abgesehen von den Massen an Tourist*innen, die mit Fertigstellung erwartet werden. Zudem werden einzigartige Ökosysteme in unterirdischen Süßwasser-Höhlen durch den Bau der Bahn, die von der Deutschen Bahn mitfinanziert wird, zerstört. Die überwiegend indigenen Gemeinschaften vor Ort wurden nicht korrekt befragt und wehren sich gegen das Projekt."
