Meine Anforderungen: IMAP (klar!), gute Offline-Funktionalität, gerne auch sonst eine Postausgangs-Funktion (E-Mails vor dem Senden sammeln), schlichtes Design und vor allen Dingen die Möglichkeit E-Mails als Klartext zu versenden!

I finally fully set up an #EMailClient on my computer. (I say fully since I had this set up for some time now but only for a subset of my accounts.) For better or worse, it's #Thunderbird; I preferred #Sylpheed or #ClawsMail but I couldn't get #OAuth2 to work while using them. Which is a danged shame, frankly.

Heck, I would have preferred #Pine or #Alpine, even, given how lightweight and super fast their text-based interfaces work, but given the trouble I've had I've concluded I basically need to do with OAuth2 the authentication analogue of having to hand-pollinate plants because of a lack of insect pollinators.

I really need an e-mail client, so I just downloaded Sylpheed. Upon starting it up, the first thing it asks me is where I want my mailbox to be.

I never thought about this before. But, now that I think about it, this was one of the reasons I found Thunderbird annoying to use many years ago. I took its operation for granted, but it just stored my mail someplace deep in my personal folders, and it was annoying to figure out how to move it to another computer. I eventually didn't even bother.

The fact that Sylpheed is asking me is a good sign.

I also tried Sylpheed years ago but for some reason it was slow. Both it and Thunderbird were. Dunno why. Hopefully things are better this time.

Oh, also, #Sylpheed is #OpenSource and #FOSS. I need to use the beta in order to get OAuth2 though, I think. So I'll find out later how well this works.

There's a paid app that was built on top of #Thunderbird codebase in which current development and the roadmap is slow and unclear, #Postbox.

It would benefit both teams to join their resources under the same umbrella and create both a free and paid version of these apps. #technology #email #emailclient

what is everyone using for an #EmailClient these days? The #gmail interface seems to be languishing a bit and I'm thinking an actual client application might be nice.

Couple options I'm seeing are #postbox, #mailbird, #mailspring, and #thunderbird.

I've used thunderbird on and off over the last 15-20 years.

I prefer #Open Source (!=free) options but if a closed, commercial app soars about all others, I'm not philosophically entrenched.

Moving all my old tattered websites to a new hosting company, and discovered my #EmailClient (Spark) doesn’t allow users to edit their account settings… I can only delete and re-create the accounts, thereby deleting all my emails. 😂😤

Anyhow… anyone have a #recommendation for an #iOS email app they absolutely love (bonus points if it has a #macOS version too)?

Life just hasn’t been the same since Google killed Inbox for no good reason. 😭

I’m really dissatisfied with my email client. Was a Spark user for a long time but the desktop client change crippled my workflow. I’ve finally settle on Minestream for Desktop but can’t find a good iOS client.

I’ve tried Spark, Polymail, Canary, Mail.app, Outlook, Gmail, and TwoBirds. The only thing that has stuck so far is Gmail but I still kind of hate it. Open to suggestions of anyone has any! #emailclient
