Sometimes one stumbles across the most unusual bug: here, a member of the insect order Embioptera https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Embioptera (also called Embiidina).

Black webspinner, Oligotoma nigra (tentative ID), a male (only males are winged) http://www.inaturalist.org/observations/181104245 casually sitting on a curtain at home … I wasn’t even trying to find a rare insect order.

Surprised to find a #webspinner (#Embioptera) in the house tonight (family #Oligotomidae). I think this is the 20th insect order I've recorded on the property. I guess I'd better seek out some fleas. #Entomology
