Made these #Jupiter and Moons 14kt-gold-filled bead and wire pieces today. I’ll finish them with chain, some as necklaces and some as bracelets. I just received the tiny rainbow #gemstone #beads I plan to use in my #JWST #pride #jewelry. It's lucky I'm #queer because I just adore rainbows :rainbow_flag: :nonbinary_flag: :pansexual_flag: :transflag: :asexual_flag: :aromantic_flag:

The 2 selections of beads are 3mm (top set) and 2mm (bottom set). Stones include purple amethyst, blue iolite, aqua amazonite, green peridot and aventurine, yellow and orange golden jade and carnelian, red jasper and garnet.

Today’s workshop: making Earth-moon earrings with 6mm larvikite beads for the Moon and either chrysocolla or assembled malachite/azurite beads for Earrh. Also on my desk are some new Titan atmosphere/dragonfly strung bead necklaces waiting to be finished. The square trays I’m using to organize beads are disposable mini dessert presentation plates.

Ok now I’ve made two strands of shell and horn heishi beads that mimic the stripes in Saturn’s rings. I’m pretty pleased with them, I think! I even got the C ring, the Cassini Division, and the Encke Gap in there, and if you squint, the G ring.

Astronomers are running out of superlatives to describe what JWST is seeing, but the naming controversy has put a tarnish on it, especially for queer and marginalized scientists. I saw these little dragonfly epoxy cameo beads at Michaels and they inspired me to make this jasper bracelet symbolizing Dragonfly’s approach and descent through Titan’s haze to see the surface. #EmilysSpaceCraft

Yellow jasper, mookaite, and sky eye jasper beads on a bracelet with the aforesaid dragonfly cameo bead. The jasper beads transition from brown through yellow ochre to white and then contrasty gray, hinting at what we will see of Titan’s surface from the Dragonfly mission to Titan.
