Watched #EmilyTheCriminal last night, as I kept hearing good things - it didn't disappoint. A slow burn perhaps, but with a worthwhile story with a pretty good cast. I've never really seen #AubreyPlaza to serious drama before, but she crushes it and seems to carry this movie pretty effortlessly with an (IMHO) award-worthy performance.

"Emily the Criminal" ★★★☆ #emilythecriminal

Literal but tense and absorbing and provocative enough to berth somewhere in the sub-genre of Darwinian capitalism home to “Parasite” and “Glengarry Glen Ross” and “A Prophet.” After seeing the movie you can ask yourself which if any of the characters behaves honestly rather than deceptively, or even, what is honesty.

Wow, this reminds me of Emily the Criminal.

My main problem with Emily the Criminal is that I'm fairly sure that if I didn't wind up working as a software engineer, getting married, and having children this is exactly what I'd be doing with my life.

This film didn't play so much as a cautionary tale as it did a full-on fantasy for me, which is why I became so annoyed at the title character for immediately breaking the 2 rules she was told never to break.

Watched #EmilyTheCriminal last night and I quite enjoyed it. Nothing extraordinary about it, but in a sea of the subpar it floats well above the rest.

Aubrey Plaza always plays Aubrey Plaza. Luckily I would be happy watching Aubrey Plaza do pretty much anything.
