The second session of the "Core Enaction" programme from Mind & Life Europe kicks off in a little more than half an hour (1700 UTC/1800 CET).
We continue our reading of "The Embodied Mind" with Philippe Blouin looking at Chapter 2 and asking "What do we mean 'human experience'?"
Catch the lifestream or catch up on the MLE YouTube channel:

The main takeaway is the need to move away from a tranactional model of consent to an adverbial one β consent is a way of doing something, not a momentary exchange. This means we need to understand and elucidate the kinds of skills that are involved, and the social, political, and physical resources made available to enact those skills.

Quantum mechanics meets the embodied mind! I had the pleasure of moderating a fascinating conversation between physicist Chris Fuchs and philosophers/cognitive scientists Ezequiel Di Paolo and Hanne De Jaegher about QBism and enactive cognition. Full video here: https://youtu.be/eOUYKj4xFkM

Professor @evantthompson and I discuss consciousness and the Self from different spiritual and scientific perspectives. How is the sense of self constructed & does it change in different states of consciousness? What is Self in relation to consciousness? https://youtu.be/9ejW63jqP4U

"Information" in Shannon-Weaver sense should clearly be differentiated with living "πππ§π¬π-π¦ππ€π’π§π ". But how to spread this important lucid point into the (scientific and technologic) community?

@ki_cog Are you confining the term information to human communicators? What word should we use to describe βinfoβ in genomes or in computers?

[Enaction & Pharmakology]
From my point of view, enaction should walk on it's two legs: body and participatory sense-making, this is the pharmakologic strategy, ... 1/2

Just arrived in my mailbox! πI'm only five years late π But good things are timeless. I will read it next after putting online my work (working on a personal web site). And I'm sure it will make a difference.

[Epistemology of Enaction] The non-reductionist pragmatic turn/roots of enaction which, in conjunction with the more traditional phenomenologically inspired enaction and ecological psychology, could lead to a non-mechanical understanding of brain, mind and nature in science. Yes! ππ©
