Just followed @AmandaMarcotte - one of my favourite journalists bringing a regular dose of sanity to this terrible world.

One of the joys of being on this site is that the journalists I want to read and hear from are moving over. @rbreich being another such: great journalist. Great analysis. Routinely nails it.

I was never on the other site: by the time it looked intersting it was already full of hate, fascism and all the things which make the world such a terrible place.

But I've enjoyed #Mastodon because it is none of those things.

However it would be great if the more quality contributors were to join. So I've started to encourage organisations to start to post here - #EncourageTheSwitch

Delighted #HumanistsUK have confirmed today that they are 'looking to set up on Mastodon'. Easy to do.
