Encyclopedia Brown pulls off the face of Bugs Meany to reveal just a pile of cockroaches in a human suit.
"How did you know? Was it my name?"
"No. Cockroaches aren't Order Hemiptera, therefore not True Bugs. You weren't smart enough to get your own name right.
But real humans don't leave a trail of oothecas behind them wherever they go."

And I only just realized, looking it up to confirm it for that toot, that Bugs' last name is spelled "Meany" and not "Meaney". I got it wrong in my previous #EncyclopediaBrown toots.
Encyclopedia knew that Bugs Meany had done it because whenever Bugs Meany shows up in a story, he's the guilty one.
Also, his last name is literally "Meany".
When Encyclopedia pointed this out, Bugs confessed.
Encyclopedia knew that nobody uses Tumblr anymore.
Confronted, Bugs admitted that he didn’t know anything about Web design and just wanted people to give him money.
Bugs' mistake was mentioning that the pizza was cheese pizza. Encyclopedia knew that a "cheese slice", as New Yorkers call it, costs $1. Maybe $1.25 in tourist areas. But never $1.50!
Encyclopedia knew that you don't put blue cheese sauce on brisket. That wouldn't be kosher!
When confronted, Bugs admitted he stole the baseball card.
I make an excellent meatloaf. Ask anyone who has had it. But what people don’t know is that my meatloaf recipe comes from a children’s cookbook.
It was called “Encyclopedia Brown Takes the Cake”, and it was one of the ways that I learned to cook when I was young. The meatloaf in particular was so good that I held onto the recipe and still make it to this day.
