@bc Did you had a look at #endevouros, #garudalinux or @manjarolinux as more approachable Arch based distributions?

After a day playing around with #i3wm I am certain that I don’t need a second monitor anymore. #endevourOs

I’m now trying out #GarudaLinux’s #Sway version. I think I’ll try a few different distros that have a Sway variant and then try putting together a setup with what I like from each. For example, I really like the visual aesthetic of the terminal in #EndevourOS. There are also some pretty cool things in some of the #i3-based variants.

Once I've got #EndevourOS sorted, then I can worry about #Windows. I'll need to move its partition to the start of the disk as it's now going to live on its own, then resize it to fill the drive. Of course, it then won't boot, probably, but I'll figure that out when I get to it 😂

I've got a long list of applications to install and configure on EndevourOS before I get to Windows though 🫣😳

And they should be arriving in the next couple of hours. Then I can start by transferring all my files from the broken install to the external drive, and then replace the smaller M.2 with the new one.

I decided, after much internal discussion, to go with #EndevourOS as it's practically #ArchLinux with a much simpler install (and a great community). I discounted #Manjaro after reading how #aur packages can sometimes break due to Manjaro's holding back of updates.

Wow ! #Arch made a change to mkinitcpio-archiso making it copy image to RAM on boot if enough detected .. Nerfed #XeroLinux install process, but thanks to #EndevourOS team for helping disable that feature fixing things. #Linux #xp

@pmarg for professional use #ubuntu is my go to. Personal use, I’ve tried them all, kinda try a new distro every so often. Currently running #UbuntuBudgie on my personal laptop and #Fedora on a spare laptop. Actually looking at @EndeavourOS at the moment. #EndevourOS. I’ve always gravitated to #Debian based and #gnome, but now looking for a challenge and learning #Arch and new desktop environments. At work I’m the Linux Guy and don’t mind getting more coworkers exposed to using Linux more.

It seems #Fedora, or at least #Nobara, has some pretty annoying issues regarding content creation (obs ndi)

So it seems like I'll be using #Arch for now.# Manjaro and #EndevourOS
