End of semester! Today I submitted the last of three essays due this past week. The euphoria lasted all of two hours... before I began mentally champing at the bit for next semester, with a fantastic work placement at Paxton House and finally for research for my dissertation to get properly underway. My undergraduate students mostly follow conventions in paper writing that are strange to me, but they all do it. Where do they learn them? For example, they all use semicolon where a colon is wanted; "pg." as abbreviation of "page"; no full stop at the end of a footnote; etc., etc. They have weird phraseological tics as well. Can anyone explain? #undergrad #punctuation #abbreviation #endofterm

So today rather disappeared after church & lunch. The design of a cycle ride went out the window after deciding I was simply too cold. I sat down on the sofa and only woke up 30 mins ago. Must be near #endofterm
