Taoiseach's views on cannabis are nonexistent. It’s rare indeed for politicians who rely on the electorate’s vote to support making things/behaviours that are already illegal, legal, unless they know for sure that the public supports change.

Public representatives need to be consistent then we can bring an end to the madness of prohibition. A bottom up people’s movement for change needed.

Due to the zero tolerance #VisionZero approach to cannabis levels, it is scientifically possible that even passive smoking could result in you being over the legal limit in blood.

The THC concentration in blood also does not correlate to impairment directly. It’s different for people of different height, weight, lifestyle and age, and they will process THC at different speeds. Some could take weeks or even up to 3-4 months to drop below the legal limit.

Criminalising sexual preference was wrong;

Criminalising people who attempt suicide was wrong;

Criminalising abortion was wrong;

Criminalising sex work was wrong.

We need to realise that criminalising drugs is wrong.

Incremental approaches to drug policy aren't sufficient.

The scale and scope of the #Irish problem is too vastly broken to take such a 'baby-step' approach.

Politicians speaking on drug policy failures will always be welcome/celebrated, but we need more with the courage to present actual alternatives & solutions.

We must decriminalise, regulate and educate!
