As far as I know literally nowhere suffering from lockdowns and restrictions has seen a major opposition party run against them in an election, so who's to say how popular these measures really are? Or that they have any kind of democratic mandate?

In another striking echo of March 2020, stocks were down 2% yesterday. I don't even really mind the drop as such; indeed, I bought in. What irks me is how we've allowed fearmongering and safety-cultist rule-by-decree to hold our entire economic system hostage. That's not right.

It just struck me: it's been 18 months since a single person I know supported any restrictions. 18 months! Yet we *still* have to run obstacle courses around businesses and governments that require masks, tests, or vaccines. Why can't everyone everywhere just be back to normal?

If they ever did it would make them look like what they are: crazy. It looks even worse when one realizes much of the US's death surge was itself caused by lockdown if Sweden's lack of a death surge is any indication. Our choice is clear: we must repudiate lockdown.
