ESMA & ACER delivered their preliminary reports on the introduction of #MCM.

The 2 reports do not identify any negative effects so far on financial or energy markets caused by the mechanism.

We can now move forward. We will remain vigilant against risks emerging in the future.

So, you put an offer the day before on how much and when you need your electricity. Then the exchange accepts “winning” offers?
What happens if you don’t win? Or they mean something else?

Interesting - Aurora on the Iberian mechanism.

The mechanism caps wholesale market prices for fossil power plants, and recovers cost of cap on electricity consumers.

It does suppress electricity prices for ES and PT consumers, compared to DE/FR. But fossil gas use has increased significantly, adding to international LNG demand.

Hi all!
I'm (currently) a post-doc researcher in #physics, studying quantum effects of light-matter interactions - it's very fundamental research, but with relevance to improved photovoltaics and quantum information. Before that I worked in #supramolecular #chemistry studying molecular transport and emergent complex systems.

Next month I'm excited to be starting a new position as an #energymarkets analyst, modelling and understanding the #energy transition here in Australia as we decarbonise the grid. Exciting stuff!
