There's an astounding amount of energy from various thermally-wasteful processes we engage in we that we could recover via thermoelectric junctions. But it needs reaching some threshold of efficiency meeting deployment monetary constraints.

In concrete production alone, from a huge menu.

Maintain poise.

"...our results demonstrated that the full citizen ownership model represented the largest share (46%) of the initiatives in our sample, suggesting that citizens still hold a central role in energy communities. However, more hybrid governance models have come ... partly a response to the need to accelerate the transition toward low-carbon energy sources, which has led authorities to encourage larger-scale projects."

Adjust expectations around automobile usage-- short of assiduous "reduce, reuse, recycle."

""Our results demonstrate that deploying EVs with 40–100% penetration by 2050 can increase lithium, nickel, cobalt, and manganese demands by 2909–7513%, 2127–5426%, 1039–2684%, and 1099–2838%, respectively..."

Those are not typographical errors.

The authors zero in on scrupulous attention to reycling as a means of dealing with this problem.

Yet another interesting energy storage system looming into view now that our warped perspective of what energy actually costs is corrected. Fossil hydrocarbons clouded our economic perspective for dealing with "needs to work for a long time." That myopia is clearing.
