I see #GrantShapps is framing his desire to allow maximum extraction of #fossilfuels as a question of #energysecurity!

Now, wouldn't it have been refreshing, if citing #energy security, he had announced a massive programme of #renewableenergy & energy storage investments to drive a fast improvement in existing technologies....

but no, his chums in #BigOil would not like that at all.... whatever BP claim about being 'beyond petroleum' (they aren't!)

Batteries taking the load in national power grids to smooth supply, increase use of renewable energy and “muscle out” reliance on fossil fuel generators which have, to date, been fired up to ease fluctuations in demand.
