My goodness - I got given out the exact same way in the only competitive cricket match where I batted higher than 8th drop.

I was 15, and it was the final match of the season. Both teams had finished in the lower half of the ladder, & the 2 captains agreed to reverse the batting orders & give the lower order batters a chance to get a score. I got to open! After hitting the only 4 of my one-season career, the next ball went through to the wicket keeper. I wandered out of my crease to talk to my batting partner, & the keeper quickly threw down the stumps.

My brief (1 over) career smashing fours (or rather, a four) was finished! A few weeks later an eye test had my parents wondering how I had even seen the cricket ball at all. I was prescribed spectacles with very thick lenses to deal with myopia and astigmatism, and I retired from facing hard cricket balls being bowled at speed by teenage boys who were on the verge of manhood.
