Excellent #wine, light, pale in colour. I'm not a fan of zesty wines but this one was elegant, has a certain shy minerality in the background that smoothes the acidity a bit and I love it for it. Further to my previous toot, English vineyards I can recommend include Carr-Taylor (Ortega and Bacchus good), Hidden Spring (Bacchus is very, very special!), Charles Palmer (again, a real favourite), Chapel Down (flint dry is great), and Woodchurch is pretty decent too. Yesterday I was layering some vines. It’s probably the cheapest and fastest way to produce a replacement or to fill a gap. The buds along the cane will produce roots during the winter. Once the new vine us self sufficient it can be removed from the parent vine. #grapevines #englishwine #propogation

I usually start pruning the #vines in December and can’t start until we’ve had a decent frost so that the canes have lignified and all the leaves have dropped.
