Ok yes 15.61km (9.7 miles) with 279m (915ft) of elevation gain might be a slightly excessive detour on my usual downhill 5km (3 mile) commute to work, and indeed it meant I was desperately late! … … but it was so nice out and I will make it up to my employer ( @Vivaldi).

Plus, I stopped for donuts 🍩, so I have a hard time regretting this. 😆

I also unicycled passed a woman walking her bike this morning along the river at a particularly icy spot. Here coment to me was "Ballsy!" (yes… in English) 😆

Honestly I think walking was more ballsy at that particular point. My tire has far better grip than most people walking. Even if they have studded shoes or "brodder" (Ice cleats?). There are 402 studs on my tyre.

More snow than ice today so I changed it up and went for my 26 inch uni with a 3 inch wide lightly studded tyre and cranks in the 125mm position.

As everyone knows, it is super handy to have multiple winter unicycles.

I decided that the ice is a bit too crazy at the moment. I have had one minor fall already (just a little bruise), so I have put on a much more aggressively studded tyre on my 29 inch wheeled , a Schwalbe Ice Spiker Pro.

I should be fine now. 😉

I have been a big sick recently but had already promised the kids takeaway today.

My plan had been to use a local delivery service to deliver us food but with reduced delivery options because of "traffic" (I am pretty sure it is just all the snow ouside) this was not possible. So I went out and got it myself.

So I stepped out of my flat and I see the snow is building up and it is still snowing.

I decided that I should switch to a wider tyre for tomorrow, just in case.

This is not a proper winter tyre but I have self studded it. It might be hard to make out the studs though, since they have gone a little rusty brown during the time this was stored.

I am sure they will grip just fine. 😉
