Becoming familiar with how open space conferences work has helped me in #EnsembleProgramming aka #MobProgramming. In particular, I use the Law of Mobility to ask myself, "Am I either learning or contributing?" If the answer is no, I move to a different group.

This also relates to the common question, "How many people can you have in an ensemble?" The answer is not a number.

3 of us were working on a feature. One person left for a doctor's appointment, leaving 2 of us. We made progress. Then I was getting hungry, so I announced that I'd leave to have lunch. Right then, another person joined. I said, "Perfect timing, tag!"

People come & go. The work keeps moving forward.
