đ„„ Translation: #Enshittificaton on wheels AKA rolling enshittification. đ„„
People who leave the #Xitter should first post a disclaimer. Something along the lines of:
Advertisers, take note: This is to inform you that I'm leaving because of the crap #EM continuously pulls, not because of the #ADM. You, as well as the ADM, may use my statement in legal proceedings

Könnte die planetare #enshittificaton mal so, sagen wir,4-5 Wochen pausieren, ja?
Looks like Reddit closed the RSS door completely today. Nothing is updating. Oh well. Guess I'll read something else!
Further #enshittificaton from Amazon as they follow the Etsy playbook and make their small third-party sellers in the UK and Europe wait longer for their money.

I just backed @pluralistic to snatch a copy of The Internet Con: How to Seize the Means of Computation, via Kickstarter.
Please listen to Corys intro over at Kickstarter, it really sets the stage for the book. Looking forward to reading!
@kottke a nice, analog (partially) example of #enshittificaton! Cc @pluralistic
@dalias @mariyadelano and #threads seems not, at present, to have hashtags or text search as twitter does [1].
Apart from trying to come up with a less cluttered experience, and not having got advertisers on board yet, I suspect they have rushed it out to capitalise on the current twitter meltdown, with more 'features' (and #enshittificaton) to follow.
The #Reddit #enshittificaton is making me gloomier about the Internet.
How long will it be a viable channel for finding useful information? Search engines fail to yield relevant content written by a knowledgeable human being. Older but accurate material is almost impossible to find, even with carefully-crafted queries for things that I know exist. Blogspam abounds.
We need a better solution for gathering, curating and retrieving knowledge. This sounds like a job for librarians?
@karim I feel exactly the same way. I used to move on from Internet services when better ones became available. Now I'm driven into the wilderness by #enshittificaton.
