I don't disagree with <weird OP>, really, because the "online" version of advertising is just awful.

I do like to point out, however, that local newspaper, local radio stations, & local television stations were supported solely by advertising for *decades*. Centuries in the case of newspapers (who also charged for their product).

No one liked ads on any of those platforms, but for a long time a reasonable balance was achieved.

That's gone & what's left is #enshittified & often fraudulent.

I think they're basically calling the community worthless if they're not paying, and they're going to remove anyone's access to the source code if they share it with anybody -- which is clearly against the GPL.

@ErosBlog have you tried the feed reader view of the page? Your browser should display an icon in the URL bar showing a feed is available. This usually bypasses all of that bullshit and just gives you the text. Of course some news sites are aware and their feed text is also #enshittified. But I find it works more than not.
