📖 Is the wildfire season becoming longer in Portugal? This was the question a team of scientists, including Miguel Carmo, set out to answer.

🔥 The results do indicate that the fire season is indeed longer due to early wildfire activity, especially in June, that shows an increase in its Fire Weather Index.

The authors reached two main conclusions: 1) human dimensions of #wildfires are often simplified into shallow indicators and 2) fire knowledge of Indigenous peoples and/or other forest and fire users and professionals remains overlooked. 🔥
