When we say #BotFarmTimeline we mean the #ExploreTimeline, of course, designed to favour entities with #botFarms backing them.

Mastodon should also restore their javascript-free interface that was recently dropped.

We really need to see other server types like #Epicyon (named after a type of big wild canine), #GNUSocial, and #FireFish gainmore developer interest.

J'ai réussi a régler le problème en lisant un peu le ticket github dédié.

Il m'a suffit de supprimer les cookies (dans l'onglet Stockage des outils de développement firefox) et rechargé la page de login et ensuite l'identifiant renseigné pendant l'installation du paquet #Epicyon sur #yunohost fonctionne.

Ça commence mal, j'arrive pas a me logger :D

Et je ne suis pas le seul il semblerai ^^

Ok, the Taurnation reboot went a little pear shaped, I have to say that #Epicyon is not very good software, so we're starting over and tentatively have Taurnation MkII running as an #Akkoma instance now for anyone that wants to follow/re-follow it, though I'm not ready to declare it working yet, though I will be duplicating posts to it the rest of the week to make sure it works right, and could use feedback.

Last we checked #GNUSocial, and #Epicyon seem to be okay, and were being actively developed.

@hamishcampbell #epicyon is very interesting software.

I took a quick look at their repository. They could probably get a huge performance boost by running on an embedded database. And by parallel processing toots. They could also organise their software as a tree. Easier to understand.

Without looking under the covers, it gives off the image of not being very well written.
Hopefully I am wrong.

I wonder if there really is benefit to publishing on #activitypub rather than #rss.

It would be nice if there were a lightweight ActivityPub server that is easily deployable as a docker image without being built first.

It’s also possible I’m just not good enough with docker.

I could deploy mastodon using docker, but that seems like overkill for what would be a single-user server. I did find a doc on installing WriteFreely, which involves only two docker images rather than mastodon’s three. Oh! And then I found a related guide that involves a single container!

I might try this out.

I fiddled with Epicyon briefly a couple of weeks ago and didn’t find satisfaction. Perhaps I gave up too quickly, though. That repo does include a Dockerfile.

Between WriteFreely and Epicyon, I’m going to try to get something up and running this weekend.
