My son is so very strong. He faced the #surgery with grace and dignity, emerged full of life and humor, and the first question he asked was "Do I seem less intelligent?"

The biggest worry he has with his adult-onset #epilepsy is losing his ability to think. The frequent #seizure activity has impacted his #memory and his attention span, but he's as bright as ever. Here's hoping this #RNS device helps control the seizures - and gives him some respite.

first full tonic/clinc seizure since 2009. my previous two were both in my sleep and followed on from hangovers. since then, as well as a drug regime, never drinking enough for a hangover or any spirits. yesterday: kitchen, awake, with a memory of me thinking "the kettle is really loud" then an immediate switch to both Bina and Alex helping me to lie down, waiting for an ambulance. after they checked me out i went to sleep -a seizure is very exhausting.

Look at the cost if my son's epilepsy med before applying Good RX.

Also, why I'll never vote Republican again.

Upping the dosage of my #epilepsy meds leaves me so dizzy, tired and exhausted in the afternoons. Hopefully it'll get better over the next couple of days. Need to make sure to get stuff done in the mornings. The kids are awake early no matter what 😅

Speaking of, though, I have mesial temporal lobe epilepsy and have focal aware and focal impaired awareness seizures (formerly known as simple and complex partial seizures) and I'd love to follow some people who also experience these as I don't know anyone IRL who does

As usual starting the morning with Coffee w cream and epilepsy medicine.

Have had epilepsy since 1996-ish but been lucky enough that except for an initial three day stay in the hospital when they tried to figure out my dosage (my very first attack was a really bad one) I have had four proper attacks since 1996.

Summertime and #epilepsy time. More seziures. We have not missed medication for weeks so that is not the issue.

But there are less structure in the days and warm days and more change in temperature and weather overall. Food is also not always the most healthy.

Absence seziures are most common now. Focal front lobe. It looks like the youth is wandering of and continue to walk into walls.
Afterwards migraine headache at the onset.

I forgot to add so many things to my intro. I have #epilepsy and I’m probably #neurodivergent (just going through assessment).

I love #ClassicalMusic and #jazz. I have a #PhD which has been almost useless in my professional life.

I talk like a #vicar, not in the sense that I preach, but in the sense that I have a ‘BBC English’ accent (should I have hashtagged vicar? Meh, I’ll leave it).

I wonder if there is a link between my childhood epilepsy and the intrusive thoughts that emerged around the same time. Not necessarily in a brain damage sort of way, but in a neurotransmitter kinda way.
