I gotta say, I see WAY more #Episcopalians on Mastodon than I do on other social media platforms. And randomly, not just because I follow the hashtag. Like, easily a third of accounts that grab my attention turn out to be members of the #Episcopal #Church. I love it.

So, I did a search on #MaryOliver and came up with nothing. I THINK this means, that no one in our federated-instance has ever posted anything this that hashtag. Is that even possible among #Episcopalians or their relations? So… I think the remedy is to cast a bit of #MaryOliver bait out there and see who nibbles….

Some of you with more #Mastodon experience might be able to set me straight on how searches work!

One of my #Advent projects has been creating an English and #Latin bilingual version of the #DailyOffice (including the #Psalter) from the #Episcopal Church's 1979 #BookOfCommonPrayer. A Latin #BCP translation exists on the #Justus website, but it needed quite a bit of reformatting before it could be used side-by-side with the standard #TEC BCP. I also found and cleaned up a number of nits. Any other #Episcopalians or #Anglicans interested in such a devotional resource? 🤓

What #Episcopalians need to understand is that the #Episcopal Church made #MarriageEquality dependant on the legality in the local jurisdiction. For now, that means #LGBTQ parishioners can't get married in their churches in countries without marriage equality. What it will mean if #Obergefell is overturned is that Episcopalians in the #Nashville area will lose access to both marriage & blessings because the Diocese of [Middle] #Tennessee is run by an anti-gay bishop and is in an anti-gay state.

Question:

In my church, we are changing up the worship service in a number of ways starting with Advent. First of all, shocking to my #Episcopalians is that we're moving to a weekly eucharist.

After the sermon, we are going to have opportunities for spiritual reflection. A few examples: touching the water of baptism, lighting candles, writing a prayer, etc.

Have you ever seen something like this done before? Were there other kinds of things you have seen that were great?
