Did you know that starting a high-fat #diet causes an adaptation of the #intestinal #epithelium within only 24 hours?
In this interesting study, Jacob Enriquez and colleagues at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center used physiological metrics and single-cell transcriptomics to interrogate the intestinal epithelial cell response to a high-fat diet in mice.

@RouxJ Hi, few comments: I think this is a terrible picture choice to represent #Alzheimer's, furthering unhelpful stereotypes, and 2) you don't link to the #study here https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8854390/ which was 3) in *mice* not humans, using chemical damage to #nasal #epithelium and 4) doesn't say anything about nosepicking, and 5) the study didn't find any increase in #AD #pathology: "we could not detect C. pneumoniae inclusions in the brain [...] did not detect any evidence of distinct Aβ deposits"
