Did you know that the word has roots to a 17th century game of chance called āhand in the capā or āhand-I-capā? The game was supposed to have an umpire to make it fair, but games are rarely played fairly. This was a gambling game. Now, I am thinking of the narrative that āanyone could become #disabled anytimeā. Yes, but #disabilities and experiences of #disability arenāt distributed equally or #equitably.
