What I didn't like?

Well. I do like Hugh Grant as an actor but I felt he was the wrong choice for this role. Not sure why but it just didn't click for me.

That's it. My one complaint.

It's not a deep, dense, journey through the lore of Dungeons and Dragons. If you knew nothing about D&D you'd still have a good time. You'd just miss the game references and in jokes. No big deal.

I give it a 8 (maybe a 9?) out of 10.

This movie a fun rollicking romp through The Forgotten Realms of Dungeons and Dragons legend. It's filled with a bunch of fan service in jokes that made this old time gamer smile and laugh out loud quite often.
It felt like it was the right length. And the special effects were excellent.

Two of my daughters (Dianna Shivak and Sarah Shivak-Lynch) and I watched this last night and here is my attempt at a "no spoiler" review.

What I liked. The actors played it straight. There was none of the "wink wink nudge nudge" that I hate so much in Science Fiction or Fantasy movies so often. They just acted.
