DREAM LOVER (’93): Some good life advice here, starting with “don’t marry a girl you know nothing about”. James Spader fails to heed that, with of course bad consequences for all. The pot slowly boils - what’s this woman deal, why so many untruths, etc.- until the third act, when things get really crazy (literally). I had forgotten what a stunner Madchen Amick is. Must confess though, I really hated the circus interludes. Whatever the thought was there, it didn’t work. #eroticthrillers #90sfilms
COLOR OF NIGHT (’94): Here’s a Razzie Award winner that stands the test of time. By which I mean, just as bad today as ever. Bruce Willis is a color-blind psychologist trying to identify his best friend’s killer before he becomes the next victim. Strangely populated with insufferable supporting characters, the stereotypical police detective perhaps topping the list. One legit bright spot: Yes, it’s the sex scenes. Super steamy. Watch those. The rest can be safely skipped. #eroticthrillers
CRIMINAL PASSION (’94): Brutal reviews for this on IMDB, but truthfully, I found it actually kinda good. This one definitely puts the erotic in erotic thriller, and perhaps that helped this along most. Some extremely hot scenes between Joan Severance and John Allen Nelson, with the wee complication of her as a cop and him as her prime murder suspect. Bonus points for Joan’s extremely 90s wardrobe selections. #eroticthrillers #90sfilms
CRIMES OF PASSION (’84): Well, this is a weird one. Maybe I shouldn’t have been surprised from what I read since it’s a Ken Russell, but… this was my first Ken Russell. Anyway, a trashy but strangely highly compelling watch. Kathleen Turner is highly strung businesswoman by day, hooker by night. Much exploration of her dual nature as she falls for married man, tries to avoid psycho “minister” Anthony Perkins. Love all the neon flooding the night scenes. #eroticthrillers #80sfilms
She Killed in Ecstasy (1971), perhaps as close as Jess Franco got to a relatively straightforward non-supernatural horror film.
Soledad Miranda stars so there's plenty of steamy eroticism.
Franco was fascinated by the awesome power of female sexuality but this time he is dealing with the even more awesome power of female love, especially when it turns to hate.

I'm loving these #eroticthrillers on Tubi. This one has the queen herself, #MimiRogers. It's also got one of my favorite #giallo stars of the 1960s, #CarrollBaker. Not to mention #TimMatheson and #WilliamForsythe. Good stuff!
