First day of urban gardening for the year today. Mostly picking cigarette butts, fast food wrappers, beer cans, and dog poop out of the garden so far, but I welcomed many small green tips from bulbs and ordered this year's "Please pick up after your pet" signs, and so feel hugely joyful and accomplished!

Sometimes it feels like urban gardening at the end of civilization, but I guess, palliative care has value too, right?

Not to open a big can of worms, but I don't.

Which is actually to say that I don't get involved in the nitty-gritty of #Eschatology. I don't find it a productive endeavour, most of the time, except to concentrate on the first three chapters of Revelation.

Also, started a series on the history of #hell from a #pagan perspective, because most folks don't know some of those ideas came from #paganism. Christian #eschatology does not speak of the future as such. It sets out from a definite reality in history and announces the future of that reality, its future possibilities, and its power over the future. Christian eschatology speaks of Jesus Christ and his future. It recognizes the reality of the raising of Jesus and proclaims the future of the risen Lord.
