Ok, I got back from holiday but I still have one big hiking weekend coming so I didn't open #godotengine since I got back. I'll get back to work on #Escoria next week! Time to reach that release state.
WIP of a new apartment level.
#indiegame #leveldesign is fun, but tedious at times. We have a bit of a weird perspective, and getting the 'alpha' and layering to work right is a chore honestly.
#godotengine doesn't really do 'X sorting' and doing a cascading Z-index based on the X coordinate feels hacky (though I think #escoria plugin successfully handles things that way).
So we end up having to #design around the limitation and can't go as complex or 'real' as we may like.

Behold! Another good friend and busy #Escoria developer joined the elephant club: please welcome @DevOrionGames
@jaap That looks amazing! 👏 May I introduce to you the #Escoria framework (which I am lead developer) that allows you to build #pointandclick #adventuregames with #GodotEngine ? It is still alpha at the moment but you may be interested. Feel free to ask if you have any question! https://github.com/godot-escoria/escoria-demo-game/

To make a presentation of #Escoria framework, what if I made a small #adventuregames using it, instead of good old PowerPoint/Impress slides? 🤔 #godotengine

So many amazing stuff from game creators using #godotengine, makes me guilty of not working more to finally achieve something myself (although #Escoria is definitely on its way to release ! 🥳)
Tomorrow, 9:30 pm CET, there'll be finally another installment of the deep stream! Join me as I'll
continue to work on #EgoVenture and, if there's still time, my game #Safehouse with #Escoria #MadeWithGodot. See you around.

@personenkult I would recommend Escoria, as it's based on the Godot game engine, so you're not locked in to the existing functionality in case you want to include new features in the future.

Even if I am very committed into #Escoria to make #adventuregames, my #DreamGame is a real tycoon that gets you from the street to the top, where you manage everything from stocks to sales and HR, but in a fun gameplay. And competition! Most tycoons just allow you to build a nice decorated and well-organized factory, but you're alone in the world. I'm interested in what your #DreamGame would be?

@grumpygamer I can't agree more with this. #Escoria 's camera management is also quite complicated, but far from being perfect.
I finally got rid of one disturbing inputs issue in #Escoria. Now, I'm finally starting to fix game saving that was broken a while ago. Good thing we're still alpha... #godotengine #gamedev #pointnclick

Hello there! I'm Dennis (he/him) from deep entertainment, a hobbyist game developer from Germany mostly specializing in narrative games.
I made #EgoVenture, a first person adventure game framework, which is powering the Carol Reed series by MDNA gamea since 2022.
Additionally I contributed to #Escoria, a third person adventure game framework and @godotengine.
I'm also doing gamedev streams every Monday at https://twitch.tv/deepentertains
Check out my website for more infos.
The deepstream returns tomorrow, 9:30 pm CET where I'll once again continue to work on #EgoVenture and my game #Safehouse with #Escoria #madewithgodot. See you around.

I guess it's time for a refreshed #introduction as well.
I am still Julian Murgia (he/him), French developer living in #Strasbourg . I am a contributor (but far from being the most prolific at the moment) for #GodotEngine which I discovered way back in time, around 2014 when it was #opensource 'd. And I never left it since then.
Related to that I am now the lead dev/maintainer of #Escoria a point'n'click framework for #Godot. Also making some #games as a hobbyist.
Happy to be back!

Almost forgot about it. This is a game I'm working on in #GodotEngine using #Escoria. #screenshotsaturday all my art is done with #pixelorama (I'm not an artist, so bear with me).
