I’ve just been looking at the incredible effort put into the decadal climate prediction project (part of CMIP6), by, particularly, European modelling groups

Overall just under 80,000 years were simulated and loaded up into the ESGF.

Of those, just over 52,000 were simulated by European modelling groups.

(Caveat emptor on those numbers, they’re based on some pretty quick hacky python using esgf-pyclient - if anyone wants to correct them, please do!)
