Found this nice camera enclosure for the #ESP32Cam on printables. The parts fits quite snug but the LED hole does not line up with my camera models. 🤷

Anyhow, I like this model and will use it to monitor my #3DPrinters 😁

So @krooshof made an awesome looking hand-crafted brass and wood 3D camera!

I'm not even remotely skilled in this craft, but I had two #ESP32cam boards, one breadboard and one 16-color-image firmware, and two days left on the #ShittyCameraChallenge

Unfortunately, the 3D effect doesn't really work in GBC resolution, so here are squeezed 2x 320x200 EGA #stereography pictures, taken on two loosely synchronized ESPs to two microSD cards. The dithering gives them a bit of a #MagicEye feeling 😎

There was a very embarrassing (really!) off-by-one bug in my code that moved the image one line to the top and exposed a bit of white at the bottom. Why didn't nobody tell me! I fixed it, but the older shots remain as is.

So apparently it's the final week of the #ShittyCameraChallenge and I had to do something to offend the Elder Gods as well as the #GameBoyCamera users (vertical image!)

The image is "straight out of camera", I only scaled it up and added a tiny white frame.

Today's #weedling update: Two needed some extra water yesterday, and I still need to number the pots. While I was in there I moved the camera and lights up again (check the fun new angle!)

Annoyingly, the two dry sensors did not align with the two lightest pots. So that is fun. I'll number them after sunset tonight and maybe something will stand out from the graphs in the morning. (Next option is to move the sensors during the next watering and see if it gets better.)

I still need to build my light sensors, since the soil sensors are under the canopy. I don't know that I actually need them, but I am still a little paranoid. On the last grow, the lights went super unreliable as soon as I flipped to flower. I've replaced that piece, but I want those sensors. (And the sensor controller can also manage some auto-water pumps..)

@kevin This morning, my base #esp32cam configs were each 200 lines or so and half of my editing bandwidth was spent comparing it to the templates to make sure it was still up to date.

As of now, they are each 26 lines, easy to compare, and I even added the captive portal just in case I mess up the credentials and knock a bunch offline before I notice...

...again.

Asked around. I have two approaches for VR in ants nest:

#ESP32Cam The camera is on the right in the pic. The black square is 9mm. It could be mounted on a servo that tracked head movements. Encapsulation to not squeeze ants?

The #runcam micro eagle Lens diameter 19mm. Might stay stationary, use software to track head movements in the 170° field of view.

What software would be easiest for either approach?

Would some kind of #fisheye #lens be smart?

Today is another #esp32 #microcontroller adventure. I just don't like the existing apps, and #esphome still can't stream (it only provides the <=1fps idle snapshot rate.)

I should also clean up and submit my added camera prefs to the #RTSP repo soon.

Is this what it feels like to be excited about a project? Been a while.

Any #recommendations from the collective for #camera management that isn't #zoneminder?

Bonus attachment: a #cardinal at a #birdfeeder, as seen from an #esp32cam painters-taped to a window. Lots of camera and focus adjustments to do still.
TW: it's about 5 degrees off from level. I have no intention of fixing it. Eventually I need to design a more permanent, adjustable suction cup mount.

Man I wish I had like..... $2000 yo buy myself a really nice CCD. But, I don't. Especially not during Xmas.

So this weekend, I built my own. A week or two ago I showed you the prototype for scaling. Now I am on revision 3 and I have 2 separate products. One for a straight ESP32cam with an OV2640 AND AN ARDUCAM (5mp).

I am the dumb guy in the room btw. If I can, u can too. Go see space!

@Alexis_Krier Well in the end it's about the protocol between that device and the chip on the banking card. I guess if you sneak some wires in between and sniff the traffic with an oscilloscope, one could eventually figure it out. I'd speculate that device could easily be replaced by an #ESP32 or #ESP32Cam.

The other way of generating the flicker codes (I guess the QR variant is similar) was already reverse engineered, e.g. here:

Kamerawagen für weniger als 10 €, wenn man den Tragwagen mal außen vor lässt. Bastelaufwand: Keine halbe Stunde. Kann man sicherlich besser bauen, wenn man Bock drauf hat, sollte aber schnell gehen. Freie Pins sind am #ESP32Cam-Modul noch einige vorhanden. Dort könnte man eine IR-Diode für die Geschwindigkeitsmessung und einen Neigungssensor anschließen.
