Shortly after being gifted Rancho San Francisco in 1839, Antonio del Valle and his family moved into the former #estancia buildings and made it their home.

In 1841, Antonio attempted to deed the ranch to his estranged son Ygnacio in a letter he wrote on his deathbed. He died before Ygnacio received the letter, but when he did, he took up his father’s offer and returned home to claim of the land. But someone else laid claim to it! (4/5)
