I just learned The Rule of Five: If you sample 5 random points from a population, there is over a 93% chance that the median of any numeric quantity over the whole population will be between the (inclusive) minimum and (inclusive) maximum of that quantity among the 5 points.
Learned from the book “How to Measure Anything” by Douglas W. Hubbard.
