I set boundaries with my father: largely, I’m no longer engaging with overt misogyny, your fixation with the woman you divorced 33 years ago, shit talking my nested partner and in-laws, or anyone who calls my son a little shit or other awful “nicknames”.
I opened my Christmas gift from him this am so I don’t have to process whatever it is on a day I’d like to enjoy. He’s disowned me in response to those boundaries. Crazy mix of relief and grief happening over here. #EstrangedAdultChildren
