-speaking -experts! Is this a Greek letter (β) being used in place of the German (ß)? I know an eszett can have a descender in italics, but I've never seen one with a closed bowl. Is this just a quirk of the font? Are there other fonts that have a closed bowl for ß? Or did they insert the wrong character?

Dear German speaking (and reading) type people. I just started sketching the capital Eszett for the first time, and as I'm not very familiar with it, I'd like to ask your opinion which letter shape should I continue with, the left with a slightly more curvy top, or the one on the right with more straight top? And any comments about the overall shape, proportions etc. are welcome.
