Finally got #pgwatch2 to monitor my lab #PostgreSQL #Database​s up an running on #openSUSE Leap 15.4. It was quite a bit of work to figure out the setup and it was anything but easy.

I use #GrafanaServer and run #PostgreSQL 15.3, including #Patroni and #etcd.

#etcd is an great key-value distributed database. It’s a great option, and that’s the reason why #ApacheAPISIX uses it too. Yet, it’s not devoid of issues.

You may prefer to use a #SQL database with APISIX. In this post, I show how you can use #MySQL instead.

Wanna know what it was like to run #etcd 2.2 in production? HELL. Actual hell. I remember one time it lost quorum because I REBOOTED a node, and it took me 4 hours to fix it. I just saw a post on linkedin where someone was like, it's best to use static IPs for etcd... in 2022... fuck off with that shit. etcd was well intentioned, but it is not "good" software, and the fact that it's the default in #kubernetes is soul crushing. Maybe I'll make my own distro with Pleiades, fuck etcd

Upgraded #rocky to 9.1, systemd overwrite for #haproxy cfg location stopped working because now it needs another env variable for the conf.d directory
Changed from 1 to 3 #k3s masters (and from sql to #etcd) - strangely somewhere in the process firewalld got enabled again so the masters could not talk to each other.
