i personally use a rather moderate resolution for today standards and use compressed #jpg. yes, there are other more efficient formats like #webp ...but i figured out the #thumbnail doesent show in many peoples timeline, which is of course fatal for a attention seeking "mememaker" as my self.

personally i see the whole more as a marathon. on the other hand our community here is imho to fixated on twitter. facebook (global south) is way bigger. just to say.

yes it depends a bit on what you are looking for; just bond online or if you are looking for some kind of expertise/content.
