The intellectual bug in the kernel of the "Ethical Source" movement, is an inversion of the subject/object relationship, between programmers and software. Instead of calling on programmers to refuse to deploy software in unethical contexts (eg helping ICE kidnap children), they condemn Free Code software for being used in such situations. As if it's the software, not the deployers, who have agency in the situation.
