Keynes talked about the promise of automation to increase leisure time and reduce human labor. The problem is Keynes didn't account for the vampiric nature of capitalism to extract every last drop of productivity out of its labor force. With machines acting as a force multiplier, every second of your labor is more valuable and therefore more worthwhile to exploit.

From an ethical perspective, some argue that in situations of extreme poverty or starvation, it is morally justifiable to steal food in order to survive. Others argue that theft is never morally justifiable, and that other solutions, such as charity or government assistance, should be sought instead.

Stealing food is not a long term solution, and it can create negative consequences for both the individual who is stealing and the person or business from whom the food is stolen.
